Ural Airlines to Become Chelyabinsk Airport’s Main International Carrier

Starting October 5, 2011, Ural Airlines will operate direct scheduled flights from Chelyabinsk Airport to three international destinations: Vienna, Dubai, and Harbin, Ural Airlines’ press officer reports.

The airline was chosen by Chelyabinsk Region Government and the management of Chelyabinsk Airport as their main international carrier.

Ural Airlines has a long-standing reputation on the international market; the airline holds an IOSA security standards compliance certificate and is a member of IATA Clearing Chamber as well as of MITA, the multilateral interline agreement. The air carrier is one of Russia’s Top 10 airlines in terms of passenger turnover. One of the things providing for the safety of the company’s flights is their modern fleet of vehicles. At the moment, Ural Airlines operates eighteen Airbus aircraft (thirteen A320 ones and five A321 ones), four of which were bought in 2011. The company is also planning to expand its fleet of vehicles to thirty Airbus planes in the next few years. The airline’s pilots have undergone high quality training and can operate flights of various degrees of difficulty.
