The cold weather in January 2005 made Gazmontazh, the regional gasification company, slow down on tubing. The frost penetration of soil comprises between 1 and 1.5 meters, which makes it extremely difficult to do any mainlaying. At the moment, Gazmontazh CJSC is assembling the polyethylene and metal pipes in the pipeline trenches that were prepared earlier. The pipelines are being installed in areas of Nikolo-Pavlovskiy, Mikotkino, Kurganovo and Kamensk-Uralskiy.

According to the spokesperson for Ural Gas Pipelines Ltd., Gazmontazh constructed over 100 kilometers of mains in 38 municipal districts in 2005.
