Ural foil maker exports 55% of its produce in 2005
The year 2005 brought significant changes for Uralskaya folga JSC, foil maker and part of SUAL Group. According to the company’s GD Sergei Borovik, the firm was able to launch the production of finer and more expensive kinds of foil due to the introduction of new technologies. There appeared some new customers as well: the firm’s major customers used to be air and car industries as well as cable works, now most orders come from pharmaceutical, food, and building industries.
Uralskaya folga JSC hopes to start using the plant’s full capacity throughout 2006, producing 15,200 tons of goods (a would-be increase of 1.3% against 2005). To make this come true, the company has to invest in its casting capacity.
Uralskaya folga JSC exported 55% of its produce in 2005 and is set at levelling the exports and imports in 2006. According to Mr Borovik, Russian home market is less dependent on the aluminum price fluctuations at London Metal Exchange and thus makes it possible to set a fixed foil price.
