Ural Turbine Works presents TGU-11 expansion gas turbine to Perusahaan Gas Negara and Perusahaan Listrik Negara of Indonesia

The executives of Uralskiy Turbinniy Zavod (Ural Turbine Works) CJSC presented the specialists of Indonesia’s leading state enterprises Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN, dealing in state-wide gas supplies) and Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN, electricity supplier) the TGU-11 expansion gas turbine with the capacity of 11 megawatt. This took place in Jakarta at the beginning of the year.

‘The turbine was developed by the works’ employees as early as the 1990s, yet it is only going to become more and more necessary as new opportunities spring up for electricity production. Even though there are strict operation regulations the turbine is highly reliable and relatively easy to construct. Our plant is, at the moment, the only producer of turbines possessing such capacity,’ said Turbine Calculation Bureau Director of Prospective Gascompressor Unit Design Office Svetlana Tsai.

Installed at the turn of the gas pipelines, the turbine uses the gas stream power that goes to the power station to move the rotor. The first of such turbines was installed in 1991 at Sredneuralskaya state district power plant of Sverdlovsk Region. It is still operating succesfuuly, and the plant is one of the major electricity suppliers for the cities of Sredneuralsk and Yekaterinburg.

The Turbine Works and Sredneuralskaya state district power plant will be visited by PGN representatives in March; the Indonesian businesspersons wish to examine the turbine at work.
