Criminal investigation against the former GD of Transglobal Airline CJSC completed

Oktyabrskiy Court of Yekaterinburg is finally through with the trial of former GD of Transglobal Airline CJSC who was charged with fraud connected with taking excessive advantage of his position in the company. According to the data of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Court of Inquiry, the accused offered Omsk Airport JSC to set up the ground handling of the aircraft allegedly used by the carrier in October 2004. Yet he never mentioned that Transglobal actually possessed no aircraft at all and had no license entitling the company to service the passengers. Omsk Airport executives signed the copy of the general agreement concerning rendering of their services and suggested that Transglobal use Vokrug Sveta Ltd. to perform flights. The Director of this travel agency sent Transglobal an application concerning the performance of charter flights using TU-154M (Omsk-Hurgada-Omsk) and transferred 240,000 RUR to Transglobal’s bank account after signing the agreement with the carrier. The accused never met his liabilities and used the money ad libitum. The same happened to Rocher Ltd. that had been offered help with the international flights using the non-existent Transglobal aircraft. The accused had actually shown Rocher representatives the schemes of cabins with seats, and the timetable. This resulted in Transglobal receiving over 1m RUR after signing the agreement. Transglobal failed to produce the flights and Rocher had to use another carrier.

In the course of the investigation, the accused denied everything and explained his failure to deliver the goods by the alleged failure of the clients to pay 100% of the flight costs even though Transglobal had supposedly taken all steps to perform the flights. The court is soon going to determine the guilt and the punishment for the accused.
