Igor Anikievich, GD of Magnesite Industrial Complex, meets faculty and students of Satka Ceramics and Mining College
In the end of May 2006, the top-management of Magnesite Industrial Complex JSC (member of Magnesite Group) held a meeting with teaching staff and students of Satka Ceramics and Mining College. The meeting was held within the framework of the cooperation program of Magnesite Industrial Complex with educational institutions of Satka town.
During the meeting, Igor Anikievich, GD of Magnesite Industrial Complex, spoke about the future prospects of the company within the framework of the unified corporate development strategy of Magnesite Group, the main trends of which have been endorsed by the stockholders up to 2010. He also spoke about the execution of the company’s policy with regard to young specialists and personnel in general.
The stockholders of Magnesite Group launched the Educational Institutions Assistance Program for the town of Satka to improve human resources of Magnesite Industrial Complex (which is Satka’s major enterprise). Not only does the program provide for preparation and improving of curriculum, but it also caters for renewal of material, technical and educational basis of the study process. Satka Ceramics and Mining College is one of the main local educational institutions. It trains the students in four professions that are in demand at Magnesite Industrial Complex.
Within the framework of the program, the company sponsors renew the College house and its lecture rooms. During 2006, the company will complete the renewal of the front of the College house and of the territory surrounding the front stairs. Since 2005, the company has also been organizing internships for the college students and placing them in jobs. The students may acquire these services through making individual contracts with Magnesite Industrial Complex.
In the course of the meeting, the college students were given an opportunity to put their questions to the top-management of Magnesite Industrial Complex. The teaching staff discussed the prospects of future cooperation of the college with Magnesite with the company representatives. All the attendees once again verified the company’s willingness to cooperate with the educational institutions of Satka and to motivate the young specialists and help them get jobs at Magnesite.
