Metallurgical Industrial Complex of Nizhniy Tagil helps sixteen local schools get equipped for new academic year

Metallurgical Industrial Complex of Nizhniy Tagil JSC (part of Evraz Group) spent approximately two million RUR on supporting the local educational establishments they patronize. Thanks to the Complex, sixteen schools have been able to have some repairs done; they also bought new equipment, furniture, sporting goods and office supplies. Some of them had kitchen and medical facilities replaced and new electric wiring introduced as well.

The Complex has been cooperating with the schools of Tagilstroyevskiy district of Nizhniy Tagil for a few scores of years. The company executives traditionally meet the headmasters during the academic year to discuss the problems the schools might have; financing some of the projects is seen as the company’s contribution to the National Education Project in Nizhniy Tagil.

In addition to helping the schools, the Complex supports Sverdlovsk Region’s largest orphanage # 1 and a few establishments that specialize in fields popular with the company’s employees: Metallurgist, a vocational lyceum, vocational school # 104, the college of mining and metallurgy, and the local proxyship of Ural State Technical University. The company annually employs nearly 500 graduates of these schools.
