First UralMetalExpo 2006 industrial fair to open in Yekaterinburg on September 7, 2006

First Deputy Head of Sverdlovsk Region Government Vladimir Molchanov held a meeting devoted to preparations for the 1st UralMetalExpo 2006 industrial fair/exhibition that will be opened on the premises of the state exhibition center in Nizhniy Tagil on September 7, 2006. The event is sponsored by Sverdlovsk Region Government, Regional Association of Metallurgists, Council of Nizhniy Tagil, and Uralvagonzavod, one of the region’s largest plants.

According to the Director of the exhibition center Valeriy Rudenko, over 15o enterprises from 13 Russian regions, France, Germany, and the Ukraine have applied so far. Among them are Metallurgical Industrial Complex of Nizhniy Tagil, Pipe Metallurgical Company, SUAL Holding, Izhsteel, Tube Works of Pervouralsk, Ferroalloys Works of Nikopol, Uralvagonzavod, Proton-Perm Motors, Machine-Tool Plant of Krasnodar, and many others. The sponsors are hoping to attract over 200 businesses and institutes altogether.

The fair provides for a few round table discussions and conferences, including the 2nd Conference on Problems and Prospects of freight carriage building development and a conference on Machine Building Metallurgy, and on Problems and Prospects of Machine Building for Special Purposes.
