Abagurskiy subsidiary of Evrazruda introduces raw ore concentrate prophylaxis

Abagurskiy subsidiary of Evrazruda (Russian ore maker and part of Evraz Group) has introduced raw ore concentrate prophylaxis in the conditions of severe Siberian winters. This consists in using a facility fit for spraying the iron-ore raw stuffs with some special frost-preventing substance perfect when the temperature outside is below 40 degrees centigrade. The agent they will use is Universin –C antiicer; it takes between 2 and 4 kilos of fluid to protect one ton of concentrate, depending on the weather conditions.

This new technology will allow the enterprise to ship the required amount of concentrate to its primary consumer, the West Siberian Metallurgical Industrial Complex, and the concentrate is certain to remain defrosted. The technology is also an intermediate step for cold weather, to be used when the production facilities fail to dry the concentrate due to overload. Yet the really dramatic changes and improvements should be brought about by the special drying complex that is currently being designed by Sibgiproruda Institution, reports the spokesperson for Evrazruda.
