First Power Generating Company (aka OGk-1) received the certificate of preparedness for the winter season. All of its power stations have been considered well-prepared for the maximum workload expected in late fall and winter; they got their certificates as early as October, reports the company’s spokesperson.

OGK-1 has already repaired both major and supplementary equipment, buildings, and facilities; the corporate repair campaign is almost over now, with over 1.3bn RUR spent over the nine months of 2006.

The oil-receiving and discharging systems, fuel preparation facilities, and coal-conveying plants of the stations are ready to operate in low temperatures. The water-chemical conditions of the major heating equipment and network have been brought in compliance with the standards. The company has also done everything that is required by Rostechnadzor and Uralenergonadzor (the official safety monitoring bodies) and the State Fire Fighting Service. Kashirskaya and Nizhnevartovskaya power stations have undergone special procedures preparing them for maximum workloads in winter.

The level of the company’s preparedness was assessed by a committee set up by the order of RAO UES of Russia.
