Ural Turbine Plant negotiates with China

The last carriage loaded with parts of the new PT-90 steam turbine meant for the power station located in People’s Republic of China started its journey from the premises of Ural Turbine Plant (part of Renova Group) on October 30, 2006. Another such turbine is now being made as well. In addition, the works is planning to sign a contract involving production of the first 300-megawatt steam turbine with Harbin Turbine Works in April 2007. This turbine will be installed at another Chinese power station. At the recent meeting of the two parties, they had a chance to look at the working schedule.

‘Ural Turbine Works is still the only producer of 300-megawatt cogeneration turbines within hypercritical steam parameters in the world. Their cooperation with the other enterprises is expected to widen the application field of the company’s unique produce and to play a major part in our development,’ says General Director Vitaliy Nedelskiy.

The enterprise must draw up and present the technical provisos and cogeneration turbine schemes to its Chinese partners by November 17, 2006. The first turbine is to have been delivered by March 15, 2008, with the whole facility launched in September or October 2008. This turbine is believed to become one of the 14 300-megawatt machines to be made by the Ural and Harbin producers.

The first Т-255/305-240 cogeneration turbine will use up tot 26,000 tons less fuel compared with the old Chinese one (this is approximately ten coal-loaded trains), reports the spokesperson for Ural Turbine Works.
