Magnesite Industrial Complex goes for product diversification

Magnesite Industrial Complex has been working at almost full power lately; we’ve reached the point of our maximal potential, and it will therefore be difficult for the company to hit the 10% growth of production output (which has been the case for the last four years) in 2007. On the other hand, we’ve gone for the product diversification,’ the company’s General Director Igor Anikievitch said in the course of a meeting of local investors with acting Governor of Chelyabinsk Region Andrei Kosilov; the meeting was conducted within the framework of VI Ural Investment Forum.

‘The quality of our refractory goods is ever-increasing, and so do the ease of their maintenance and durability; this means metallurgical enterprises are able to cut their costs per unit. This is why, if we want to keep up with our current production pace, we have to look for the new markets. We are particularly attracted by the construction market that will need our macadam and caustic magnesite. Doing business in the building industry has a lot of potential, with estimated production growth of 50% a year, and we are prepared to deal with the existing competition,’ Mr Anikievitch said.
