Military-Industrial Committee under Russian Federation President to hold meeting in Yekaterinburg

A committee responsible for coordinating the upcoming meeting of the Military-Industrial Committee under the Russian Federation President scheduled for April 17-18, 2007 met in Yekaterinburg today, reports the spokesperson for the Governor of Sverdlovsk Region.

The committee consists of representatives of the regional executive and legislative branches, defense industry executives, and members of the central working team headed by Sergey Shlyaev, First Deputy Director of Rosoboronzakaz (the state defense contracts agency).

Deputy Head of Government Sergey Ivanov, First Deputy Chairman of the Military-Industrial Committee Vladislav Putilin, and other members of the committee as well as plenipotentiary representatives of Russian Federation President in a number of federal districts, heads of federal subjects, banking and insurance business executives, management of defense enterprises and representatives of large NGOs are to attend the meeting in order to discuss the potential cooperation between the state and private businesses in the field of innovational defense technologies. More than 300 high-ranking officials are expected to arrive.

The agenda of the meeting includes visiting a number of regional enterprises, four round table discussions hosted by the Ural defense enterprises, and a plenary session at the Government House.
