Uralmashzavod to get new CEO
The meeting of Uralmashzavod’s Board of Directors held on March 20, 2007 resulted in appointing Nazim Efendiev the company’s CEO. Mr. Efendiev is to start working in this capacity on March 21, 2007. He will thus succeed Boris Vasilyev, who has been Uralmashzavod’s CEO since December 26, 2005, reports the company’s press officer.
Nazim Efendiev was born in Baku on December 16, 1963. He graduated from the Military Institute of Foreign Languages with a major in military interpreting in 1985 and served in the army in 1985-1992. He got his MBA in the Academy of National Economy and completed a course in international management at Kingston University, Great Britain, in 1996.
Mr. Efendiev was appointed Deputy Commercial Director of Sayansk Aluminum Plant (part of Siberian Aluminum) in 1996 and Director of Samara Metallurgical Works Trade Firm in 1997. He became head of Rolling Division of Russian Aluminum in 2000 and Sales Director of NOSTA and Ural Steel in 2001. Mr. Efendiev was appointed Ural Steel CEO in 2004 and MetalloInvest CEO in July 2006.
