Industrial production index in January-February 2007 goes up 5.9%
Plenipotentiary Representation of Russian Federation President in Ural Federal District presented its findings on the area’s socio-economic development in two months of 2007. Plenipotentiary Representative of Russian Federation President in Ural Federal District Petr Latyshev says the data indicate that the population incomes have been growing; so have the investments, industrial production, housing construction, and retail trade. The unemployment rate is still below the Russian average; so are arrears of wages, mortality rate, and the spread of the so-called social diseases.
The industrial production growth in Ural Federal District in two months of 2007 went up 5.9% compared to January-February 2006, largely due to faster development of Tyumen and Chelyabinsk Regions.
