Sverdlovsk Region Duma Committee for Industrial, Agricultural, and Environmental Policies suggests supporting milder limits on meat import
Sverdlovsk Region Duma Committee for Industrial, Agricultural, and Environmental Policies suggested that the regional Duma should support the address of Volgograd Region Duma to Head of Government Mikhail Fradkov and State Duma Chairman Boris Gryzlov regarding the need to do something about the Russian meat market.
According to Deputy Evgeniya Talashkina, Volgograd deputies think setting more lenient limits on meat import to Russia would be a good idea. The Committee agreed that it was crucial that the meat import/home produce ratio was well regulated; otherwise, things would only get worse.
The issue will also be discussed at the meeting on April 25, 2007 (the points on the agenda include problems and prospects of food and processing industries in Sverdlovsk Region) and at Sverdlovsk Region Duma sitting on April 24-25, 2007.
