Nikolai Krupinin appointed acting Head of Rostechnadzor in Ural Federal District
Nikolai Krupinin was appointed acting Head of Rostechnadzor (the state environmental and technological safety watchdog) in Ural Federal District after the corresponding order 60/TK had been signed by Konstantin Pulikovskiy on April 18, 2007, reports Rostechnadzor’s press officer.
Nikolai Ya. Krupinin is the Honored Ecologist of the Russian Federation, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, and first-rank Counselor of State Civil Service. He was born in Sovna, Mogilev Region (Byelorussia) in 1951 and graduated from Bryansk Institute of Technology with a major in Forestry Engineering in 1973. He was employed in the capacity of chief forest warden and then forestry director in Tyumen Region. Mr. Krupinin worked as Chairman of Interregional Environmental Protection Committee of Nizhnevartovsk in 1989-2000. He spend the next two years working as deputy head of Natural Resources Department in Ural Federal District and then moved on to become head of State Surveillance and Nature Management Department in Ural Federal District. He was appointed Managing Director of one of the divisions of Russian Academy of Sciences in Khanty-Mansiysk in 2005 and worked as Director of Federal Improvement and Waste Management Center in Ural Federal District in 2005-2006. Mr. Krupinin served as Deputy of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Region in 1994-2000; he got a decoration for developing West Siberian oil and gas facilities in 1987 and published a book on state control over nature management in 2004.
Mr. Krupinin’s appointment was brought about by the sudden passing away of former Head of Rostechnadzor in Ural Federal District Andrei Korolev.
