Yekaterinburg’s budget revenues come to 15 billion RUR in 2006

Yekaterinburg Municipal Duma Budget and Economic Policies Committee analyzed the report on the city’s budget revenues and expenditures in 2006. Financing of social projects and use of money obtained through letting municipal property were the items that received the most attention.

The budget revenues reached the point of 15 billion RUR last year, which exceeds the initial target figures by 8.8%. Donations from the regional and federal budgets amounted to 4 billion RUR. Taxpaying businesses still owe the city 1 billion RUR. The budget expenditures amounted to 13.4 billion RUR, which falls short of the target figures by 1.4%. This money was spent on educational needs (34.5%), housing maintenance and utilities (28.4%), healthcare and sports (15%), and state expenses (6.9%). 829 million RUR were invested in strategic projects.

The official report on last year’s budget is to be discussed at the next Duma meeting on May 22, 2007.
