Academic construction project grows more popular in Europe after MIPIM 2007
Academic construction project currently implemented in Yekaterinburg by RENOVA Stroy Group has been getting a lot of attention both at home and abroad (namely, in Western Europe). Following the presentation at the international exhibition MIPIM 2007 held in Cannes, the project was praised by Europe’s major newspapers.
‘Academic construction project is Europe’s largest at the moment. The future district of Yekaterinburg is to be very ‘green’ since it will be located between two 600-hectare woodlands and next to a great park beside a river. Each part of the district will be situated near some park or by the riverside. According to President of RENOVA Veniamin Golubitskiy, the project proves that being environmentally friendly can yield profits,’ Le Figaro reports.
According to Immobilien Zeitung, Russia is now seen as the country of mega-projects, one of which is being fulfilled in Yekaterinburg. The newspaper states that 325,000 people will be able to live in the city’s new district in 2026; $27.7 billion worth of investments will also be used to put up a congress hall, a business center, a 350,000-square-meter shopping mall, plenty of retail shops, a logistics center, and a power station, which means Russia could become the trend-setter in raising people’s living standards.
RENOVA is also planning to present the project at Global City 2007 forum to be held in Lyon on May 14-16, 2007. Global City is an international forum for business executives and members of city councils devoted to strategies, new methods and specific projects in the field of municipal improvement. The forum is a globally recognized place to present one’s large town planning projects and share one’s experience in dealing with construction challenges related to urban development.
The agenda of the forum provides for a special conference on the multi-faceted urban area development within the framework of Academic construction project. The conference will be attended by mayors of major Russian and European cities as well as representatives of the world’s leading developers and architectural design companies.
