Foreign trade turnover at Nizhniy Tagil customs goes up due to exporting to Ukraine and importing from Kazakhstan

Foreign trade turnover at Nizhniy Tagil customs amounted to $962.2 million in January-April 2007, which is 25.9% better than in the corresponding period of 2006. 83.2% of goods handled by the customs were sent to or from the far abroad (this totaled to $800.4 million), 16.8% of goods were sent to or from the NIS (this totaled to $161.8 million), the spokesperson for Ural Customs Administration reports.

The volume of trade turnover related to the members of the CIS went up 7.2% compared to January-April 2006 and reached $161.8 million (this was mainly due to a 169.5% increase in export to Ukraine and a 50.8% increase in the volume of import from Kazakhstan), whereas the volume of trade turnover related to the countries from the far abroad went up 30.4% and reached $800.4 million.
