The rate of officially registered unemployment in Sverdlovsk Region amounted to 1.22% on June 1, 2007, with the number of the unemployed filed into job centers’ databases coming to 29,461. In the meantime, regional companies and organizations applied for 47,048 workers, Sverdlovsk Region Ministry for Economics and Labor reports.

15,300 people were born in Sverdlovsk Region in January-April 2007, which equals to figures for a year earlier; 22,100 people died, which falls short of figures for January-April 2006 by 5.2%. The natural population loss was 15% lower than that recorded in January-April 2006.

184,932 people received 355.2 million RUR worth of monthly parental allowance meant for 255,309 children in January-May 2007.
