Sukhoi Superjet 100’s first public presentation has recently taken place in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The event gave all the project participants (Sukhoi employees and the company’s partners and suppliers) a chance to get together for the first time. The presentation was also attended by First Deputy Head of Government Sergey Ivanov. Sukhoi’s first customers, including Aeroflot, Ural Airlines, Dalavia, and Air Union, were also invited.

Ural Airline’s press officer reports the plane presented is fully prepared for flight trials, with body, planes, fins, and engines all pieced together safely. The aircraft is fitted with all the basic systems like auxiliary power unit and landing gear, and avionics facilities are just about to be installed. The flight deck has got all the operation panels and indicators needed.

The airplane needs to be prepared for the flight trials within the next two months; then it can actually get in the air.

‘We are planning on adding five Sukhoi Superjet 100 planes to our fleet by 2010. According to the experts’ estimates, Superjet 100 planes meet all the fuel efficiency and safety demands imposed by both the domestic and foreign civil aviation markets. We are looking forward to the first flight trials. Sukhoi Superjet 100 has a 4,000-kilometer flying range, which means Ural Airlines will be able to expand its destination network and start operating flights in the new regions. We will, for instance, fly our customers to Prague, Munich, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Mineralniye Vody, Irkutsk, Tashkent, and other cities in Russia, the CIS, and all over the world using these jets,’ Ural Airlines’ Deputy GD Anatoly Telegin said to UrBC.
