Court’s decision regarding Mayak Corporation comes into force

Yekaterinburg’s public prosecution authorities and Sverdlovsk Region Ministry for Construction and Housing Maintenance and Utilities checked Mayak Corporation’s compliance with the construction norms in April 2007. The company is currently putting up two 26-storey apartment blocks in Bazoviy Lane.

The inspection revealed that even though both skyscrapers were 70% complete, Mayak Corporation had no construction permit. This resulted in an administrative lawsuit and an accusation of violating the norms of construction, reconstruction, overhauls, and commissioning. Sverdlovsk Region Court of Arbitration stated that the company should face administrative liability and pay a 500,000-ruble fine. The Court of Appeals stated that this decision was not subject to any changes and should come into effect.
