Only 1/3 of region’s warehouses fall into A or B category, Vera Solovieva reports

‘We have almost finished inspecting Sverdlovsk Region’s warehouse infrastructure. It looks like we have 2.4 million square meters of storage facilities, but only one-third of those can be classed as belonging to A or B categories,’ Sverdlovsk Region Minister of Trade, Food, and Services Vera Solovieva announced at a monthly meeting chaired by Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Eduard Rossel.

‘Twenty-five buildings are currently under construction; the building jobs are in full swing at seven sites, a dozen premises are being prepared for the process, and seven land allotments still have to be approved of. Everything fits in the plans,’ she added.

The Governor reports the region’s warehouse infrastructure is expected to expand by 1.7 million square meters by 2010. These new facilities (all of them class A and B storage areas) are expected to fully meet the region’s demands.
