MMK promoted in Forbes rating

Forbes’ latest Global – 2000 rating features the world’s 2,000 largest corporations ranked on the basis of their revenues, profits, assets, and market capitalization. These four development indicators are believed to present an objective picture of a company’s affairs. The capitalization data pertained to February 29, 2008, while the other three figures covered the period of twelve months. In addition, the company had to sell its produce in the U.S. or have ADRs, sell its shares for at least $5 apiece and get at least $1bn in terms of revenues.

The rating includes companies based in sixty different countries with the total revenue of 30 trillion dollars that employ 72 million people altogether. Twenty-nine businesses on the list are based in Russia, which is much better than the fourteen companies featured in the rating in 2006. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) was given the 835th position, which is definitely a dramatic promotion from the 735th position a year earlier, the spokesperson for the company reports. This promotion reflects the improvement in MMK’s key development indicators and positive growth dynamics.
