Ural Airlines serves 448,365 passengers in January-May 2008

Ural Airlines came up with a performance reports for the five months of 2008. The report makes it obvious that the company has improved all of its development indicators since the beginning of the year.

The airline rendered its services to 448,365 passengers in January-May 2008, which exceeds the figures for January-May 2007 by 20%. In May 2008, the passenger turnover rose by 44% against a year earlier and reached 133,229 people: this increase largely has to do with the beginning of the summer vacation season.

Passengers who used the carrier’s international flights have outnumbered those who used domestic flights for the first time since the beginning of the year; all in all, 65,782 people traveled abroad with Ural Airlines in January-May 2008, which is 173% better than a year earlier, 57,570 people used the carrier’s domestic flights (which is 9% better than in January-May 2007), and 9,877 people flew to the countries of the CIS (which is 4% better than the year before).

The company’s aircraft operated 4,293 flights altogether in January-May 2008: this exceeds the figures for a year earlier by 17% and includes 1,110 international flights (a 46% increase against January-May 2007), 2,739 domestic flights (an 8% increase against January-May 2007), and 394 flights within the CIS (a 19% increase against January-May 2007). In May 2008, 1,084 flights were operated, including 400 international ones, 569 domestic ones, and 103 flights around the near abroad.

In addition, Ural Airlines handled 261 tons of airmail and 2,243 tons of cargo in January-May 2008. The company’s factual passenger and ton-kilometer turnover came to 1,131,676,000 passenger-kilometers and 107,559,000 ton-kilometers, respectively, which exceeds the figures for the five months of 2007 by 32% and 32%, respectively.

The passenger load amounted to 76% in May 2008, which is 8% better than in May 2007, and reached 73.2% in the five months of 2008, which is 2.9% better than in January-May 2007.

The revenue load came to 70% in May 2008 and to 69.1% in January-May 2008, which exceeded the figures for May 2007 and January-May 2007 by 3% and 2.2%, respectively.
