‘The selection of Andrei Kozlov scholarship finalists is an event aimed at enhancing our students’ career awareness. The more students learn about the options available to them, the better things will be for both the potential finalists and other students. This is a great motivation tool that benefits everyone,’ says Dean of B.N. Yeltsin Ural State Technical University’s Department of Economics and Management Vadim Krivorotov.

Six students entitled to Andrei Kozlov Scholarship are to present their financial projects to the scholarship committee on April 15, 2009.

The scholarship was introduced by the Central Bank, the Association of Russian Banks, and URSA Bank in 2006 to support the students with excellent competence in economics and banking business. The scholarship winners are to receive a monthly allowance of 13,000 RUR.

‘We are glad to see the program carries on smoothly, thanks to its founders and supporters. The thing is, the benefits are obvious not only to us but also to the employers. We have to grow increasingly employer-oriented, which is the right thing, I feel. The scholarship selection process is a chance for the students to contact their potential bosses directly. The latter can see some gifted students and select the best. I am positive companies that start training their staff in college are bound to succeed,’ the Dean notes.

‘The Central Bank, the Association of Russian Banks, and URSA Bank’s representatives will be present at the solemn meeting on April 15, 2009, alongside with the students and possibly the management, to hear the presentations and select the three winners,’ he adds.

Krivorotov believes this is going to be a long-term project offering gifted students a chance to achieve self-actualization.

‘We are quite satisfied with this project and hope it will keep on working,’ the Dean says.
