MMK keeps implementing social program

Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) keeps implementing its new social benefits scheme.

Metallurg Charity Fund and Chelyabinsk Region’s division of Russian Children’s Fund expanded their children’s support program in 2008. So, the program now involves the children from specialized boarding schools and children without parents living in orphanages. The funds organized special events in the local water park, movies, the children’s club, Abzakovo sports center, and Berezki sanatorium for these children, spending over 900,000 RUR on these activities.

According to MMK’s PR Department, the program was resumed in March 2009. Over the following three months, over 540,000 RUR has been spent on various projects. MMK’ program involved ten socially important establishments and specialized boarding schools, so over seventy children from orphanage No. 3 visited the water park and took part in a special event at Metallurg sports center. They’ve also been to Sovremennik movie theater and went on a day trip to Abzakovo sports center. What is more, the students from a specialized boarding school No. 3 for children with disabilities are going to take part in a sports event in Abzakovo.
