Governor Sumin proposes agricultural plan

Governor of Chelyabinsk Region Petr Sumin spoke of his action plan for the agricultural development of the region at a solemn reception dedicated to the Agricultural Worker’s Day

Firstly, it is necessary to increase the acreage of winter crops and to keep introducing some modern farming systems and new crop-raising technologies, the Governor said. Secondly, the regional livestock and poultry farming have to grow as productive as possible. Next year, for example, the annual milk yield will, it is hoped, reach 4,000 liters per cow in addition to improved gross output and keeping up with the livestock number.

Then, Sumin suggests using the existing rural economic infrastructure to improve sales, including the end-user ones.

‘Finally, we need to improve and adjust some additional mechanisms of cooperation among the food manufacturers, processors, and retail chains to make sure that all of them can be more flexible and that there exists a way for regulating the agricultural produce sales,’ the Governor added.
