Ural Airlines to keep getting Airbus planes

‘We are not going to stop renewing our aircraft. In 2010, we’ll keep replacing our TU154B airplanes with A320 and A321 ones,’ General Director of Ural Airlines Sergey Skuratov said in the course of a solemn opening ceremony of the company’s new office in Yekaterinburg.

The ceremony that took place on December 12, 2009 was actually attended by the Russian Federation Transport Minister Igor Levitin and Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Alexander Misharin.

Ural Airlines’ GD spoke about the latest data available as to the company’s passenger turnover in 2009 (the figure went up by 2% against the year 2008) and mentioned the carrier’s plan to raise the turnover figures by 20% in 2010.

The company’s winter holiday season flights will be primarily performed with the help of foreign aircraft. Ural Airlines now relies heavily on its mid-distance Airbus planes. During the January 2010 recess, the airline will operate flights from Yekaterinburg to Paris, Verona, Prague, Saltsburg, Munich, Tel Aviv, Beijing, and Dubai.
