Court looks into Avtofrans bankruptcy case

Sverdlovsk Region Arbitration Court is still looking into Avtofrans bankruptcy case.

The demand that the company be declared bankrupt was actually placed with the court by UKS-Invest. The plaintiff insisted that Avtofrans owed it 5.871 million RUR for the jobs UKS-Invest had completed within the two parties’ construction financing and contractor-controlling agreement. The existence of this debt was officially confirmed by the court on July 30, 2009.

As a matter of fact, Avtofrans admits that they do owe money to the plaintiff.

‘As far as the building at 3 Vysotskiy St. in Yekaterinburg is concerned, UKS-Invest was the customer for the project and Avtofrans was the investor. The construction was completed in the middle of 2008, but a few problems were revealed during the commissioning process. These problems still haven’t been eliminated. We refused to pay the customer until after the problems had been dealt with, but UKS-Invest took the case to court and now insists on being paid 6 million RUR. They promise to work on the problems later,’ Avtofrans court representative Valeria Chicherina said to UrBC.
