Rostechnadzor detects 75 faults at Sverdlovenergo

The Ural division of Rostechnadzor (the state environmental, technological, and nuclear safety watchdog) completed its multi-faceted inspection of Sverdlovenergo, (the subsidiary of MRSK Urala, a power distribution company).

The inspection was conducted in accordance with Rostechnadzor’s Provision on scheduled inspections aimed at checking MRSK Urala and its daughter enterprises’ compliance with the existing regulations, the spokesperson for the watchdog reports.

For one, the inspectors looked into the way Sverdlovenergo complied with the legislative electric power industry requirements and into the way the company met Rostechnadzor’s earlier demands.

Seventy-five violations of the norms were detected in the course of the inspection; thirty of them were eliminated on the spot, with the remaining forty-five attended to by means of issuing relevant instructions. As for the earlier demands and orders, the power company met them all.

Six people will have to face administrative liability for the detected legislative offenses and violations of safety norms.

Sverdlovenergo’s managers were presented with a warrant containing instructions and deadlines for eliminating the problems revealed by the inspectors.
