Sverdlovsk Region to host governors’ summit
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 13, 2010. ‘My deputy Sergey Smetanyuk has been made responsible for the organization of the Ural and the Ukrainian Governors’ meeting,’ Plenipotentiary Representative of Russian Federation President in Ural Federal District Nikolai Vinnichenko announced at a press conference in Yekaterinburg.
The city of Yekaterinburg is to host the meeting of the Ural Federal District’s officials and business communities with their Ukrainian counterparts in September 2010. The agenda of the summit provides for a plenary session, some panel and work groups meetings, and for a number of agreements to be signed by the regions and the organizations as well as for some culture events.
‘We feel the need for some healthy communication with the heads of the federal constituencies; you all know that Ukraine’s former president Viktor Yushchenko did not care much for promoting it. This is why we decided to make up for this lack of communication now and to organize a summit. We have already received applications from thirteen Ukrainian regions,’ Vinnichenko added.
The most important meetings are presumed to take place in the Plenipotentiary Representative’s new residence. It’s also possible that some of the terminals that took part in INNOPROM 2010 exhibition and Hyatt and Atrium Palace hotels will also get involved.
