Governor Yurevitch: We offer best terms to investors
Chelyabinsk Region’s authorities promise to provide their foreign investors with the most comfortable terms to operate in the region, Governor Mikhail Yurevitch announced at a meeting with the heads of foreign countries’ representation in Ural Federal District.
A meeting of such diplomatic importance was actually held in Chelyabinsk Region for the first time: twelve diplomats were invited to the Governor’s residence altogether. These were the Consuls of China, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Byelorussia, Bulgaria, the United Kingdom, the United States, Vietnam, and France in Ural Federal District, the Governor’s press service reports. Each diplomatic representative spoke briefly about their country and the South Urals’ socioeconomic, scientific, technological, and humanitarian ties.
Head of the Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry’s representation in Yekaterinburg Sergey Khvan stressed that this was a very significant meeting for all the parties present.
‘The number of foreign diplomats Yekaterinburg hosts at the moment is probably the greatest among the Russian federal constituencies. This is mainly because the Ural territories’ potential is truly great. Chelyabinsk Region is undoubtedly one of the area’s leading constituencies in terms of economic development, and I am positive that this region’s international connections will keep both expanding geographically and improving in quality,’ Sergey Khvan said.
Governor Yurevitch observed at the close of the meeting that all the countries whose consuls came to Chelyabinsk that day had developed some stable economic and cultural ties with the South-Urals.
‘We are naturally most interested in business development and introduction of foreign enterprises and new technologies here as well as in putting up plants on the other countries’ territories. This mutual economic exchange helps any Russian federal constituency greatly to move forward. This is also in line with the task Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev set for the Foreign Affairs Ministry, that is, to support the Russian business community’s initiatives abroad. Our region is also trying to attract foreign investment, and we can guarantee that the investors will be operating in a most suitable environment,’ Governor said.
