Rospotrebnadzor: Most people lay claims against Transaero

Over twenty complaints have been placed by Russian citizens with Rospotrebnadzor (the state consumer rights watchdog): customers complain about the flight delays in Moscow’s airports in December 2010; most claims are actually laid against Transaero, Rospotrebnadzor’s press service reports.

Twenty-one complaints were submitted between December 25, 2010 and January 11, 2011, including eighteen claims against Transaero Airlines, one claim against Siberia Airlines, and one claim against Orenburg Airlines.

Some of the complaints have to do with the consumers’ infringed rights. For one, some passengers are unhappy about the lack of accurate information about the time of departure, about flight delays and the expected time of the delay, and about the weather conditions.

The airlines also refused to reimburse most of their passengers whose flights had been delayed by over twenty-four hours.
