Yekaterinburg managed to get through the recession as the unemployment rates nearly halved last year, Chair of Yekaterinburg Council Strategic Planning Committee Marina Andrus says.

‘We had 16,743 officially unemployed in December 2009, whereas a year later, the number dropped down to 8,738,’ Ms Andrus explains.
