FAS lets dairy company buy shareholding

Following numerous complaints by some companies concerning the activity of Chelyabenergosbyt JSC, Chelyabinsk Region Federal Antimonopoly Service started investigating the supplier in April 2006. Most complaints had to do with the alleged disadvantageous terms of purchase-and-sale agreements that companies needed to sign in order to buy electricity (extra charge for over- or under-use of electricity compared to the amount stated in the contract, fines for each revealed deviation from the contract, etc.). ‘Koltsovo airport of Yekaterinburg is trying to impugn our order regarding the airport’s refusal to provide Ural Airlines with the slots for winter flights from Yekaterinburg to Moscow and back,’ says the spokesperson for Federal Antimonopoly Service in Sverdlovsk Region. The Service earlier stated that Kotsovo airport had been violating the antimonopoly law when refusing the carrier the so-called historic slots in winter. Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service allowed Microsoft to buy Skype, the owner of a popular Internet-based telecommunications service, the FAS’s press service reports. ‘The agency looked into Microsoft International Holdings B.V.’s application to acquire the rights over Quick.Ru and Skype Communications S.AR.L.’s business activity and decided to approve of it,’ the press service says.
