Abakan subsidiary of Evrazruda JSC introduces new equipment

Within the framework of the renovation program, Abakan subsidiary of Evrazruda JSC (part of Evraz Group, an ore maker) put into operation the main dewatering plant (maximum depth -200 meters) that allows to pump subterranean waters from the mine’s deepest floors.

According to the company’s spokesperson, the new plant is part of the complex system that covers three floors (+65, -15, and -95 meters); the other components include a venting and air heating chamber unit in order to air and warm the mine in winter. The air will be transmitted via Kletievoy air channel that is 32 meters long; the specialists have worked through 26 meters so far and the other 6 meters that pertain to the light section up to the breakoff. The whole procedure will have been completed by July 2006, and in October, the company’s employees will assemble the mains and bring the building and the premises look in nice order. The launch of the venting and air heating chamber unit will signify the full completion of the system.
