Toyota, Mitsui, and Komatsu executives visit Sverdlovsk Region looking for prospective joint ventures
The representatives of Japanese companies Toyota, Mitsui, and Komatsu met Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Eduard Rossel in the regional Government House today. According to a Mitsui executive, the three companies represent the truly Japanese industry and are willing to work and to invest in the Urals and to provide jobs for local population.
Mitsui’s turnover is estimated to come to $33bn; the company set up a subsidiary in Moscow in 2004, and it is now planning to break into the Ural market as well. ‘Mitsui has already bought Toyota Center Yekaterinburg and set up a Russian-Japanese joint venture Komek Machinery that deals in selling and servicing Komatsu equipment in Sverdlovsk, Tyumen, and other Russian regions. In cooperation with Stankoproekt Ltd., Mitsui deals in selling processing units on the Russian market. The company is now putting up a special office and a show room in Yekaterinburg.
