Metallurgical Industrial Complex of Nizhniy Tagil improves its energy supply monitoring

Metallurgical Industrial Complex of Nizhniy Tagil (part of Evraz Group) is trying to improve its energy supply monitoring using an updated software version. This program was devised by the experts from the electric lab and those from the company’s IT center. The main idea behind this software is to provide full monitoring of energy consumption not only in terms of the company as a whole but also in terms of certain shops and areas in real time mode. A computer-aided control board allows for a prompt response in each case of over-spending in every shop and department. Thanks to the experts, the new software also has expanded data analysis and data viewing functions plus the systematic archiving that makes it possible to analyze the dynamics of the problem.

Most of the corporate users have already been introduced to the new monitoring system; the software is fully functioning, and the company’s power engineers have approved of it.

The company’s energy-saving program is scheduled until 2012 and includes both long- and short-term, managerial and money-consuming projects concerning each kind of energy supply. The company has been trying to increase the reliability of its power stations, renovate equipment, and fit in the heat and electricity meters in all shops, reports the spokesperson for Metallurgical Industrial Complex of Nizhniy Tagil.
