Metallurgical Industrial Complex of Nizhniy Tagil (part of Evraz Group) summed up the results of the ongoing sports competition that was attended by over 15,000 metallurgists and lasted for a year.

There were 13 categories each for male and female participants to compete, and each category was further subdivided in four groups depending on the number of people. The winners were awarded in each group, based on their success in all kinds of sports. Thus, the team of the blast-furnace shop became the champion among the largest shops, the heavy section shop won in the second group, the teams of the man-caused stuffs processing shop and of the gas rescue plant won among the small divisions. The employees of the refractory goods division and of the safety unit were the best among the female participants.

The winners were awarded with trophies such as cups and medals and with valuable gifts in the course of a solemn ceremony. Besides, the coaches from almost thirty of the company’s departments received honorary certificates and prizes for providing their personnel with the chance to do sports.

The next sports competition will start at the beginning of 2007: the next year’s first ski races will take place at Uralets ski resort on January 13, 2007, reports the spokesperson for Metallurgical Industrial Complex of Nizhniy Tagil.
