First Vice Premier Dmitriy Medvedev was able to have a look at the project stand and meet RENOVA’s President Veniamin Golubitskiy on June 10, 2007. Mr. Golubitskiy told the official about the progress that had been made since November 2006 when Mr. Medvedev was originally exposed to the project. So far, the whole district has been fully designed and planned; some engineering facilities and a large highway connecting the future area with the rest of Yekaterinburg are being constructed at the moment. Mr. Golubitskiy spoke about the prospective ways of project implementation and announced RENOVA had found the general contractor who would be accountable for the first section of Academic district. Austria-based Strabag was chosen to accomplish this mission.

Mr. Golubitskiy thanked Mr. Medvedev for his support and attention and said everything was being put up in compliance with the preplanned schedule, which was largely made possible due to the government’s support.
