Federal Antimonopoly Service inspects Aviaprad

‘At the moment, Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service is busy going through Aviaprad’s files,’ Head of Federal Antimonopoly Service in Ural Federal District Tatiana Kolotova announced at a press conference on August 29, 2007.

‘This airline has for a long time refused to provide the service with the data we needed on the proprietors of the company and on their purchasing prices as far as fuel was concerned. All the papers were only submitted on July 20, 2007, and it’s not at all improbable that a new court trial will begin upon the investigation of these documents,’ she added.

‘Sverdlovsk Region division of Federal Antimonopoly Service has already dealt with the case related to Koltsovo airport of Yekaterinburg leasing two of its sectors to Aviaprad, which meant no other carrier could use them. These actions were considered illegitimate, as they violated Articles 10 and 11 of the existing legislation on protection of competition. In the end, Koltsovo airport had to eliminate this violation,’ Ms Kolotova said.
