Russian ambassadors to visit Academic district’s construction site

Eleven ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Russia to several different countries are going to visit Yekaterinburg’s future Academic district’s construction site on July 11, 2008. The visits of this kind are coordinated by the Russian Federation Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to give the Russian ambassadors a chance to get acquainted with the Russian regions’ economic and cultural potential. Once every two years, the Russian Federation President holds two-day meetings with the ambassadors, whereupon they begin traveling around the Russian provinces.

The agenda of the ambassadors’ trip to Yekaterinburg provides for meeting Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Eduard Rossel and heads of some municipalities and visiting Sverdlovsk Region’s cultural and economic landmarks, including the city’s future district’s construction site.

The state declared Academic district an experimental investment project based on the concept of multi-faceted area development. Apart from 9 million square meters worth of housing, the project offers every bit of modern social infrastructure like kindergartens, sports stadiums, hospitals, and a large shopping and entertainment mall.
