Ural Airlines operates 12,275 flights in 2008

Ural Airlines came up with a performance report for 2008.

In December 2008, the carrier serviced 77,834 passengers, which was 5% better than a year earlier. 18,338 people used the airline’s international flights (10% more than in December 2007), 45,437 people used domestic flights (9% less than a year earlier), and 14,059 people used the flights within the CIS (84% more than in December 2007).

The airline operated 798 flights in December 2008 altogether, which exceeded the figures for a year earlier by 2%. The figures include 170 international flights (11% more than in December 2007), 480 domestic flights (14% less than in December 2007), and 134 flights within the CIS (109% more than in December 2007). The company’s factual passenger turnover and ton-kilometer turnover came to 204,602,000 passenger-kilometers and to 20,126,000 ton-kilometers in December 2008, respectively. Both figures exceeded those for a year earlier by 17%.

In addition to flying its passengers, Ural Airlines handled 599 tons of cargo in December 2008, which was 2% better than in December 2007. The passenger load reached 64%, the revenue load reached 62%.

The carrier rendered its services to 1,450,153 passengers in 2008 (which is 19% better than a year earlier), including 604,116 people who used the carrier’s international flights, 709,980 people who used domestic flights, and 136,057 passengers who used flights within the CIS. This was, respectively, 54% more, 2% less, and 39% more than in 2007. Ural Airlines managed to improve on its performance so impressively due to acquiring four A320 aircraft in 2008. These airplanes meet all the international standards and therefore allowed the carrier to increase the number of both flights and new destinations.

The airline’s aircraft operated 12,275 flights between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008, which was 12% better than a year earlier; the figures include 3,938 international flights (52% more than in 2007), 7,011 domestic flights (5% less than in 2007), and 1,200 flights within the CIS (35% more than in 2007). In addition, a new chartered flight to the south of China and a scheduled flight to Milan were launched in the first half of 2008. Then, the airline introduced new domestic flights: Moscow-Bratsk-Moscow, Novosibirsk-Khabarovsk, Khabarovsk-Novosibirsk, and Moscow-Kulyab (Tajikistan).

In 2008, 5,815 tons of cargo and 674 tons of mail were handled by the carrier, which was, respectively, 4% and 11% more than in a year earlier. The company’s factual passenger turnover and ton-kilometer turnover came to 3,947,649,000 passenger-kilometers and to 370,788,000 ton-kilometers in 2008, respectively. The passenger load reached 76.4%, the revenue load reached 69.8%, which was 1.5% and .5% more than in 2007, respectively.
