Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) topped Russia’s best metallurgical enterprises’ rating compiled by the Metallosnabzheniye I Sbyt magazine. The magazine came up with the results of a survey aimed at determining the best Russian producers and traders on the ferrous and non-ferrous metals market in the second half of 2007. The rating was based on the questionnaires filled in by customers and market experts, and on the complex analysis of the enterprises’ activity. The magazine experts report they used criteria like the business development dynamics, shipments volume, the quality of service and products, a supplier’s responsibility in terms of keeping to one’s contractual obligations, and domestic market factors.

MMK was given the first position in the Top 5 Metal Goods Suppliers rating in terms of domestic market delivery of sheet products and the third position in the bar iron supplies rating. The company’s MMK-METIZ division was declared the second best hardware producer. MAGMA Trade, MMK’s official dealer in five regions in the European part of Russia and in Byelorussia, was given the seventh position in the Top 10 Metal Traders rating. In addition, MMK Profile Moscow has hit the Top 10 metal traders’ rating for the first time this year.

According to the Metallosnabzheniye I Sbyt magazine, metal traders build up on their positions, while ratings tend to grow more predictable overall.
