Ural Federal District’s division of Rosprirodnadzor (the state environmental watchdog) completed its scheduled inspection of Ural Civil Aviation Plant; the main purpose of inspecting the enterprise that deals in repairs of aero-engines, units, and reducing gear was to check the plant’s compliance with the existing environmental legislation, the spokesperson for Rosprirodnadzor informed UrBC.

Twelve environmental offenses were detected in the course of the inspection; the environmental officials issues eleven orders for the enterprise and drew up offense protocols that accuse the plant of lacking a water use permit (Article 7.6 of the Russian Federation Administrative Offense Code), violating environmental waste-treatment regulations (Article 8.1 of the Russian Federation Administrative Offense Code), distorting environmentally relevant data (Article 8.5 of the Russian Federation Administrative Offense Code), and ignoring the existing water use code (Article 8.14 (part 1) of the Russian Federation Administrative Offense Code). Also, two of the plant’s executives were charged with handing the industrial waste over to an organization that was not licensed to deal in waste treatment and unlicensed treatment of the plant’s own waste (Article 8.2 of the Russian Federation Administrative Offense Code) as well as with violation of its combined cycle plant’s maintenance rules (Article 8.21 (part 3) of the Russian Federation Administrative Offense Code).

All the data and materials relevant to this inspection have been placed with Sverdlovsk Region’s public prosecution authorities so that the latter can take their measures.
