Authorities to inspect UralChem

Rostechnadzor (the state technological, environmental, and nuclear safety watchdog) is to carry out a scheduled inspection of OAO UralChem United Chemical Company. The agency intends to check the enterprise and its daughter companies’ compliance with the safety rules; the order to this extent has already been signed by Rostechnadzor’s management.

The inspection at Voskresenskiye mineral fertilizers company and the mineral fertilizers plant of Kirovo-Chepetsk chemical works will start on September 6, 2010 and must be completed by October 1, 2010. OAO Azot will be undergoing inspection from September 27, 2010 till October 22, 2010. UralChem’s Moscow headquarters will be checked on October 25, 2010-November 22, 2010.

Rostechnadzor’s committee is going to check whether the companies’ activity meets the existing legislative, regulatory, and normative-technical standards, whether UralChem complies with the license terms and agreements and with the Russian Federation Planning Code, whether the enterprise meets the electrical facilities maintenance safety regulations, and whether it pays emission fees in due time and in full amount.
